Bernie Kay and Lloyd Williams were in attendance to request approval for hosting the Christmas Festival and Santa Parade at Pulman Park, rather than Central Park.

That the Papakura Local Board:

a)     whakamihi / thank Bernie Kay, Lloyd Williams and George for their attendance and presentation requesting approval for hosting the Christmas Festival and Santa Parade at Pulman Park, rather than at Central Park

b)    note that staff are providing information that will enable the board to make a decision on this matter at the board’s business meeting on the 23 October 2024.

Thriving Rangatahi

That the Papakura Local Board:

a)           ohia / endorse Thriving Rangatahi and provide the following feedback:

i)        the board is concerned that a number of areas of focus actually sit with central government including education, transport, mental health and housing. Council is unable to supply everything young people would like to see, or is envisaged in the Thriving Rangatahi document. There is not enough funding to cover the wish list

ii)      the board is concerned that the Thriving Rangatahi document is likely to create high expectations of the council in being able to deliver on all outcomes.

Adoption of Eke Panuku Papakura Local Board Engagement Plan 2024/2025

That the Papakura Local Board:

a)      whai / adopt the Eke Panuku Papakura Local Board Engagement Plan 2024/2025 in Attachment A

b)      tuhi ā-taipitopito / note that Eke Panuku will provide a bi-monthly memorandum and report six-monthly to update the local board on the following items:

i)     26-32 O’Shannessey Street, Papakura

ii)    35 Coles Crescent, Papakura

iii)    Red Hill, Papakura

iv)   8-10 Averill Street

c)      whakamana / authorise the local board chair to sign this engagement plan on behalf of the local board.

ii)      Wednesday, 30 April 2025 at 4pm.

The general subject of each matter to be considered while the public is excluded, the reason for passing this resolution in relation to each matter, and the specific grounds under section 48(1) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 for the passing of this resolution follows.

This resolution is made in reliance on section 48(1)(a) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and the particular interest or interests protected by section 6 or section 7 of that Act which would be prejudiced by the holding of the whole or relevant part of the proceedings of the meeting in public, as follows:
