/ Auckland Domain - work programme and general update

and amending clause c), as a Chair’s recommendation.

Resolution

D Simpson, seconded by Deputy Chairperson S Trotman:
That
the Auckland Domain Committee:
a) whiwhi
/ receive the Pukekawa / Auckland Domain – general and financial update
report.
b) tuhi ā-taipitopito / note the nature
playground will be fully funded by sponsorship and philanthropy.
c) tautokongia / support the recognition of donors to the Nature
Playground at Pukekawa / Auckland Domain in the playground design.
d) tuhi ā-taipitopito / note that the
rebuilding of the bush tracks will commence early in 2025 and will include
improved drainage to future proof the tracks and to minimise damage during
future storm events.
e) tuhi ā-taipitopito / note the successful
renovations of the Rose Garden near the kiosk and the garden beside the
Auckland Museum’s Te Ara Oranga / southern pathway to Titoki Street.
f) tautokongia / support the trialing of a sponge / regenerative garden at
the Domain to help achieve sustainable environmental outcomes, flooding
mitigation and the full reduction of green waste to landfill, and
request staff to report back as to location and implementation at the next
meeting.
g) tono
/ request staff check with the Auckland Foundation as to alignment of the
donor and sponsorship requests against council’s relevant sponsorship
policy.
