Purpose of the report
1. To present the Waitākere Ranges Local Board workshop agenda for 21 November 2024.

Executive summary
2. Most workshops are open to the public to attend as observers in person.
3. Some sessions may not be open to the public. The staff / chairperson and deputy chairperson decide which sessions are open to the public, depending on the sensitivity of the information being discussed. If a session is not open, a reason will be provided below.
a) Accountability to the public
b) Engagement
c) Input to regional decision-making
d) Keeping informed
e) Local initiative / preparing for specific decisions
f) Oversight and monitoring
g) Setting direction / priorities / budget.
5. Workshops do not have decision-making authority.
6. Workshops are used to canvass issues, prepare local board members for upcoming decisions and to enable discussion between elected members and staff.
7. Members are respectfully reminded of their Code of Conduct obligations with respect to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.
8. The following will be covered in the workshop:
Item 1 – Local board staff, admin time & forward work programme |
9.30am-9.45am Presenter/s: Brett Lane, Senior Advisor; Rebecca Winham, Personal Assistant/ Office manager.
Purpose: To update board members on meetings, events, etc. To update the board on the forward work programme.

Item 2 – Local Board Capital Transport Fund: Glenmall Footpath |
9.45am-10.15am Presenter/s: Owena Schuster, Elected Member Relationship Partner.
Purpose: To discuss the scope and costs for the Local Board Capital Transport Fund proposal. for Glenmall Footpath. |

10.30am-12.15pm Presenter/s: Brett Lane, Local Board Senior Advisor; Natasha Yapp, Local Board Advisor; Louisa Vaeluaga, Engagement Advisor; David Rose, Lead Financial Advisor. Purpose: To discuss feedback on Mayors Proposal and prepare for Budget Committee workshop. Proposed Outcome/s: Local boards to provide feedback on Mayors Proposal and Budget Committee workshop presentation. |

Purpose: To finalise local consultation content for Annual Budget. Proposed Outcome/s: Finalise local consultation content. |
