Local Dog Access Rules

Summary of Discussions:

The board discussed proposals in particular for Clarks Beach, Clevedon sportsfields, Patumahoe and Orua Bay, clarifying areas involved, checking naming and considering their position. A report is on the 10 December 2024 agenda for resolution prior to public consultation.

AT – NZTA Waka Kotahi Update

The board were updated on NZTA projects for Papakura to Drury, the Paerata roundabout, and the Drury roundabout on SH22. The public are being kept informed by joint open days on a regular basis.

Summary of Discussions:

The board were updated on the Waiuku Business and Development Association activities during the past year, and plans for the future were outlined.

BID annual update - Pukekohe Business Association

Summary of Discussions:

The manager of the Pukekohe Business Association presented the year’s activities and plans for the following year. The new Chair of the business association was introduced to the board.

Staff presented a list of possible projects that might be considered for funding in the next financial year. The board gave their initial direction to guide staff for further development work.

Summary of Discussions:

The board were updated on Beachlands Log Cabin lights, Paparata Road Local Purpose Reserve bollards and mowing, the Dominikovich Plantation Reserve replanting plans, Franklin: the Centre HVAC system replacement, the Karioitahi clifftop access track work, and Orere Point Beach Reserve planting plans,.

Updates on the Paparata Local Purpose Reserve engagement were provided.

Plans for a ‘rope contract’ to manage steep areas for pest control were noted.

The Franklin Pools and Leisure facility will be shut for upgrades during January and February.

Lease updates, Arboriculture work and Playground updates were also provided.

The Karaka Hall carpark and the Fred Graham sculpture project were also noted.

LOA Big Bay Road Esplanade Reserve

Summary of Discussions:

The board reviewed a Land Owner Approval application and discussed details of the case with staff. A formal approval will be sought via report to a business meeting.
