2          Te Whakapuaki i te Whai Pānga | Declaration of Interest

 

Members were reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

 

Member Albert Lim announced his declaration of interest for the workshop item - Papatoetoe BID.

Local Board Workshop

 

 

Session 1 – 9.00am – 9.30am

Wiri BID  - BID Presentations

Presenter/s:                  Gary Holmes, Gill Plume

 

Purpose:                       Check in on performance / inform future direction

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of discussions:

a)          The Wiri BID discussed their annual compliance report and supporting the continuation of a working relationship between BIDs and local boards at a board to board governance level.

 

Session 2 – 9.30am - 10.00am

East Tamaki BID

Presenter/s:                  Ruth White, Stephen Grey, Gill Plume

 

Purpose:                       Check in on performance / inform future direction

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of discussions:

a)          The East Tamaki BID discussed their annual compliance report and supporting the continuation of a working relationship between BIDs and local boards at a board to board governance level.

 

Session 3 –10.00am – 10.30am

Business Manukau BID

Purpose:                       Check in on performance / inform future direction

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of discussions:

a)          The Business Manukau BID discussed their annual compliance report and supporting the continuation of a working relationship between BIDs and local boards at a board to board governance level.

 

Session 4 – 10.40am – 11.10am

Otara BID

Purpose:                       Check in on performance / inform future direction

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of discussions:

a)          Presentation had been circulated to members prior to the workshop. A copy is available on the council website as a notes attachment

b)          The  Ōtara  BID discussed their annual compliance report, including supporting the continuation of a working relationship with local government, an overview of the governance, accountability and opportunities, an overview of the BID’s next 12-month plans

 

 

Session 5 – 11.10am – 11.40am

Papatoetoe BID

Presenter/s:                  Rana Judge, Gill Plume

 

Purpose:                       Check in on performance / inform future direction

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of discussions:

Session 6 – 11.40am – 12.20pm

Eke Panuku

Purpose:                       Define board position and feedback

Governance role:          Keeping informed

Summary of discussions:

a)          Provide the board with an update on Hayman Park Kiosk, Kolmar and installing a mural of Faʻanānā Efeso Collins withing the Manukau City Centre.

 

 

Session 7 – 12.10pm – 12.40pm

Economic Development

Presenter/s:                  Liz Muliaga, Gavin Millyn

 

Purpose:                       Provide direction on preferred approach

Governance role:          Keeping informed

Summary of discussions:

a)          The board was introduced to the new Economic Broker and discussed the focus areas for new Economic Broker.
