Purpose of the report
1. To present the Whau Local Board workshop agenda for 5 February 2025.

Executive summary
2. Most workshops are open to the public to attend as observers in person.
3. Some sessions may not be open to the public. The staff / chairperson and deputy chairperson decide which sessions are open to the public, depending on the sensitivity of the information being discussed. If a session is not open, a reason will be provided below.
4. Local Board workshops provide an opportunity for local boards to carry out their governance role in the following areas:
a) Accountability to the public
b) Engagement
c) Input to regional decision-making
d) Keeping informed
e) Local initiative / preparing for specific decisions
f) Oversight and monitoring
g) Setting direction / priorities / budget.
5. Workshops do not have decision-making authority.
6. Workshops are used to canvass issues, prepare local board members for upcoming decisions and to enable discussion between elected members and staff.
7. Members are respectfully reminded of their Code of Conduct obligations with respect to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.

Item 1 - Auckland Transport monthly update |

Purpose: To provide the Board with a monthly update, including on South Lynn mitigations and Rosebank Road special vehicle lanes.
Outcome: Board is informed.

Item 2 - Parks & Community Facilities monthly update |

Purpose: To provide the Board with a monthly update, including on the following matters: 1. Crown Lynn Park 2. Options for toilets at Lawson Park – opex vs capex 3. Riversdale toilet 4. 60 Portage Road (Autosparks)

Purpose: To give Whau Local Board an overview of what the Out and About programme looks like and what $100k would achieve.
Outcome: The local board understands the programme and its outcomes and considers funding it for FY25/26 from their OPEX budget.

Item 4 - Arts Programme |

Purpose / Outcome: To provide an overview on the Arts Broker Review, provide advice on building creative capital in response to the local board plan, introduce recommendations for the Whau Local Board Work Programme Development 2025/2026, and provide and discuss options for Canal Reserve Mural.
