Session 1

Community Partnership Programme delivery updates

Purpose:                 For the partner organisations from the Community Partnerships                                  programme to present their activities and outcomes to the board.

 

Governance role:   Oversight and monitoring

 

Summary of Discussions:

The following groups reported back on their work.

 

Mai Lighthouse (Franklin Family Support)

The Youth Empowerment Programme is operating at capacity and note the demand is higher than they are able to incorporate. The team are exploring how to expand funding sources.

 

Franklin Positive Aging Expo

Successful expo held in October 2024 with 73 exhibitors and over 1000 visitors.

 

Pasifika Digital Horizons

Reported on an expanding process of connecting and enabling the Pasifika residents with community connectivity, digital literacy, workforce development, employment and business development.

 

Session 2

Beachlands increased service offering

Purpose:                  Share investigation of venue options to increase the council service                                  offering in the Beachlands area

 

Governance role:   Setting direction/priorities/budget

 

Summary of Discussions:

The board were presented with options to provide a council service offering in Beachlands. The board provided feedback, including the wish to establish consistent days from the start, agreeing to shorter hours for the trial period, noting it will offer more than library services, incorporating the volunteer library service as an adjunct, and further investigating options for use of the space.

 

 

Session 3

Local Economic Broker monthly update

 

Presenter:               Christina Rogstad, Franklin Local Economic Broker

 

Purpose:                 To update the board on the work programme of the Local Economic                                  Broker

 

Governance role:   Oversight and monitoring

 

Summary of discussions:

The board were updated on progress of the various work streams of the broker, and were introduced to a forward work proposal for the 2025-2026 year that will require additional funding.
