Session 1

Regional Parks implementation plan

Purpose:                        Present an annual implementation plan report 2024-2025

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of Discussions:

The Regional Parks team presented an overview of the Regional Parks Plan, and then focused on the implementation plan for 2024-25, summarizing works completed and planned for parks in the Franklin Local Board area.

 

Session 2

Parks and Community Facilities (PCF) monthly update

Purpose:                        Update the board on the work programme and projects

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of Discussions:

The Parks and Community Facilities work programme progress and projects for December and January were presented to the board. Topics included the Maraetai Library leak repairs,

Clarks Beach swan deaths investigation, Āwhitu Landcare restoration project, Paparata Local Purpose Reserve consultation (under way), Constellation Park Beachlands Pump Trank consultation results, community lease progress, Puni Reserve bike track, McNicol Homestead renovations update, and the Clarks Beach Recreational Reserve playground renewal. Staff notified a request for additional funding, which will be considered alongside all funding requests, via a report to the board.

 

Note: Member Hopkins noted a conflict of interest regarding the Whitford Tennis Club.
