Purpose of the report

1.       To present the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board workshop agenda for Tuesday, 4 March 2025.

Executive summary

2.     Most workshops are open to the public to attend as observers online.

3.       Some sessions may not be open to the public. The staff / chairperson decide which sessions are open to the public, depending on the sensitivity of the information being discussed. If a session is not open, a reason will be provided below.

4.       Workshops will be recorded and a link to the recording will be included in the published documents. Email MaungakiekieTamakiLocalBoard@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz  for a link to join the workshop online. The public can observe the workshop on via MS Teams.

5.       Local Board workshops provide an opportunity for local boards to carry out their governance role in the following areas:

a)   Accountability to the public

b)   Engagement

c)   Input to regional decision-making

d)   Keeping informed

e)   Local initiative / preparing for specific decisions

f)    Oversight and monitoring

g)   Setting direction / priorities / budget.

6.       Workshops do not have decision-making authority.

7.       Workshops are used to canvass issues, prepare local board members for upcoming decisions and to enable discussion between elected members and staff.

8.       Members are respectfully reminded of their Code of Conduct obligations with respect to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.

CONFIDENTIAL - Local board budget update and cost pressures

This workshop is closed to allow for free and frank discussions, particulary when covering sensitive financial matters.

Parks and Community Facilities (P&CF): Full Facilities Contract Update with Ventia and Te Ara Hura 2027 P&CF maintenance contracts

Purpose:                        To provide an update on the Full Facilities contracts and to gain local board feedback on the Te Ara Hura 2027 maintenance contracts.

Proposed Outcome/s:   The Local Board has been updated and has had an opportunity to provide feedback.

Miguel Mendez - Network Optimisation Technical Lead, Auckland Transport

Purpose:                       To update the Local Board about the Corridor Plans ahead of community engagement.

Governance role:          Keeping informed / Setting direction / priorities / budget

Proposed Outcome/s:   The Local Board understands the corridor plan in its area before AT begins wider engagement. This advice also provides the Local Board with information to guide its feedback later in the process, after public engagement.

Auckland Transport General Updates

Presenter/s:                  Peter Naber, Elected Member Relationship Partner, Auckland Transport

Purpose:                       To provide the Local Board with any general updates from Auckland Transport occurring in the local board area

Governance role:          Keeping informed

Proposed Outcome/s:   The Local Board is aware of recent updates from Auckland Transport and has had the opportunity to discuss them with AT staff.
