Purpose of the report
1. To present the Whau Local Board workshop agenda for 5 March 2025.

Executive summary
2. Most workshops are open to the public to attend as observers in person.
3. Some sessions may not be open to the public. The staff / chairperson and deputy chairperson decide which sessions are open to the public, depending on the sensitivity of the information being discussed. If a session is not open, a reason will be provided below.
4. Local Board workshops provide an opportunity for local boards to carry out their governance role in the following areas:
a) Accountability to the public
b) Engagement
c) Input to regional decision-making
d) Keeping informed
e) Local initiative / preparing for specific decisions
f) Oversight and monitoring
g) Setting direction / priorities / budget.
5. Workshops do not have decision-making authority.
6. Workshops are used to canvass issues, prepare local board members for upcoming decisions and to enable discussion between elected members and staff.
7. Members are respectfully reminded of their Code of Conduct obligations with respect to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.

Item 1 - Local board budget update and cost pressures |

This workshop is being held with the public excluded (confidential), to allow free and frank discussion.

Item 2 - Auckland Transport monthly update |
|
|
10.45am-11.30am Presenter/s: Peter Naber, Elected Member Relationship Partner
Purpose: To provide the Board with a monthly update.
Outcome: Board is informed.
Governance role: Keeping informed.

Item 3 - Auckland Transport Corridor Plans |

11.30am-12.30pm Presenter/s: Miguel Menezes, Technical Lead – Network Anita Lin, Principal Transportation Peter Naber, Elected Member Relationship Partner Purpose: To update local boards about the Corridor Plans - long-term plans for optimisation of key arterial routes - before AT engages with the wider community.
Outcome: Local boards are aware of and understand corridor plans in their areas before AT starts wider engagement. This advice also provides local boards with information to inform their feedback to AT following public engagement.
Governance role: Keeping informed.

Purpose / Outcome: An integrated workshop to discuss options for new events in the Whau local board area, and seek direction from the board in the following areas: 1. Event Production: Whau signature event 2. Event Production: Movies in Parks 3. Civic Events: Volunteer recognition event options 4. Civic Events: Openings and blessings (council-led) 5. Event Partnerships

Item 5 - 2025/2026 Whau Grants Programme Review |

Purpose: To review the Whau Grants Programme for 2025/2026.
Outcome: The board will have direction for resolving the new grants programme in May-June 2025.
