Local board budget update and cost pressures Presenter/s: Faithe Smithe (Lead Financial Advisor, Financial Advisory) Hao Chen (Manager Local Board Financial Advisory, Financial Advisory)
Governance role: Setting direction / priorities / budget Proposed Outcome/s: Be informed on the budget positions, relevant cost pressures, and impacts of potential options, ahead local board annual planning workshops. Summary of Discussions Staff presented updated financial positions for local boards regarding current cost pressures. · Options were presented to local board members surrounding what an approach would look like to manage the cost pressures. Staff advised that a combination of options may be required. · Board members will provide formal feedback on the cost pressures at the March business meeting.

Service Property Optimisation s7(2)(i) This workshop was held with the public excluded (confidential) to allow Auckland Council to carry on negotiations without prejudice or disadvantage. There are ongoing negotiations which were discussed at the meeting. Disclosing information about the negotiations at this stage will be disadvantageous. |

2025-2026 Local Board Work Programme option commissioning, Manurewa Local board new events Presenter/s: David Daniela (Manager Event Production, Community Wellbeing) Emma Helmich (Youth Specialist Advisor, Community Wellbeing)
Governance role: Setting direction / priorities / budget Proposed Outcome/s: Provide direction on possible new events for Manurewa Local Board in the 2025-2026 Local Board Work Programme.
Summary of Discussions · Member suggested Manurewa Snow festival to be held in Clendon. Chairperson suggested Mountford Park. · Celebration of Nathan Homestead event could include crafts and music. The intended audience would be people in the community and those who have been involved in the Homestead. There would be a big focus toward families and activities for the whole family. · Chairperson suggested potential for Shakespeare in the park or Opera in the park as a potential event. · Member raised the possibility of reviving Jazz in the Park as an option. This could be held in conjunction of the centenary event. Centenary event – board suggested timing around labour weekend.

Auckland Transport Monthly Update Presenter/s: Peter Naber (Elected Member Relationship Partner, Auckland Transport)
Governance role: Oversight and monitoring Proposed Outcome/s: Receive an update on the Auckland Transport programme of work.
Summary of Discussions · Member gave feedback that there are issues with roaming dogs stopping people from walking as well as a lack of reliability of public transport for increasing walking to Homai train station. · Insufficient lighting should also be taken into account for increasing walking, to increase the safety of residents. · Manurewa Business Association have told Auckland Transport that the passenger information display sign is required outside Southmall and Great South Road.
Action: LBS to pass on design of the Waiata Shores bridge to Auckland Transport staff to aid in information of project.

Comprehensive Parking Management Programme (CPMP) Manukau Presenter/s: Peter Naber (Elected Member Relationship Partner, Auckland Transport)
Governance role: Oversight and monitoring Proposed Outcome/s: Provide feedback on the proposal for the Comprehensive Parking Management Programme Manukau implementation.
Summary of Discussions · Members expressed issues with cars parking on berms and footpath but are unsure of proposed solution as they are concerned about residents having to pay for parking. · Sisters of Mercy identified as stakeholder which could be helpful for feedback. Member Allan raised that the community is tight knit and can get in contact and relay feedback to Auckland Transport.
