Purpose of the report
1. To present the Whau Local Board workshop agenda for 12 March 2025.

Executive summary
2. Most workshops are open to the public to attend as observers in person.
3. Some sessions may not be open to the public. The staff / chairperson and deputy chairperson decide which sessions are open to the public, depending on the sensitivity of the information being discussed. If a session is not open, a reason will be provided below.
4. Local Board workshops provide an opportunity for local boards to carry out their governance role in the following areas:
a) Accountability to the public
b) Engagement
c) Input to regional decision-making
d) Keeping informed
e) Local initiative / preparing for specific decisions
f) Oversight and monitoring
g) Setting direction / priorities / budget.
5. Workshops do not have decision-making authority.
6. Workshops are used to canvass issues, prepare local board members for upcoming decisions and to enable discussion between elected members and staff.
7. Members are respectfully reminded of their Code of Conduct obligations with respect to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.

Item 1 - Parks & Community Facilities monthly update |

10.30am-11.3am Presenter/s: Shane Hogg, Manager Area Operations Tracey Hodder, Parks & Places Specialist Elvira Kolmychenko, Work Programme Lead Cynthia Delonge, Project Manager (Ops)
Purpose: To provide the board with a monthly update, including on the design progress of the sandpit at Olympic Park. Outcome: Board is informed and able to provide input and feedback.
Governance role: Keeping informed.

Item 2 - Shoreline Adaptation Plans: Weiti Estuary to Devonport Peninsula and Waitematā Harbour |

11.30am-12.10pm Presenter/s: Sage Vernall, Coastal Adaptation Specialist and Engagement Lead Lara Clarke, Shoreline Adaptation Plan Programme Lead and Principal Coastal Adaptation Specialist Amirah Rab, Relationship Advisor Mark Simento, Recovery Specialist
Purpose: To provide updates on the development of the Shoreline Adaptation Plans: Weiti Estuary to Devonport Peninsula and Waitematā Harbour: Community engagement reporting, coastal adaptation strategies, progress updates on the development of the final SAP reports and next steps.
Outcome: Local Boards are provided with an update on Shoreline Adaptation Plans (SAPs) under development in their area and understand timeframes, outcomes and next steps for the completion of the reports.
Governance role: Keeping informed.

Purpose: To present an update on Whau Wildlink's work and aspirations for the future.
Outcome: The board will have a good understanding of the work being done and goals for the future including how the board can continue to support this work.

Item 4 - Development Contributions 2025 proposal |

1.45pm – 2.15pm Presenter/s: Brigid Duffield, Chief Advisor Growth Infrastructure Funding and Financing Bobbi Parkinson, Principal Advisor- Financial Policy David Rose, Lead Financial Advisor
Purpose: To assist local boards and help them provide feedback on the draft Contributions Policy 2025 public consultation and feedback held in September to December 2024.
Outcome: Boards feel supported and informed in providing their input on any impacts from the Development Contributions 2025 proposal.
Governance role: Input to regional decision-making
