Purpose of the report
1. To present the Waitākere Ranges Local Board workshop agenda for 13 March 2025.

Executive summary
2. Most workshops are open to the public to attend as observers in person.
3. Some sessions may not be open to the public. The staff / chairperson and deputy chairperson decide which sessions are open to the public, depending on the sensitivity of the information being discussed. If a session is not open, a reason will be provided below.
4. Local Board workshops provide an opportunity for local boards to carry out their governance role in the following areas:
a) Accountability to the public
b) Engagement
c) Input to regional decision-making
d) Keeping informed
e) Local initiative / preparing for specific decisions
f) Oversight and monitoring
g) Setting direction / priorities / budget.
5. Workshops do not have decision-making authority.
6. Workshops are used to canvass issues, prepare local board members for upcoming decisions and to enable discussion between elected members and staff.
7. Members are respectfully reminded of their Code of Conduct obligations with respect to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.
8. The following will be covered in the workshop:
10.15am-11.15am Presenter/s: Bilin He, Grants Advisor. Purpose: To review the 2023/2024 grants and propose new 2025/2026 Community Grant Programme. Proposed Outcome/s: To review the 2023/2024 grants to confirm the local board outcomes and priorities for the new 2025/2026 Community Grant Programme. |

Item 2 – The health of the Manukau Harbour, a joint workshop with Healthy Waters |
11.30am-12.30pm Presenter/s: Elizabeth Stewart, Elected Member Relationship Advisor. Taylor Farrell, Auckland Council Relationship Advisor.
Purpose: To help understand Auckland Council and Watercare's commitment to protecting and enhancing the health of the Manukau Harbour. Proposed Outcome/s: Local board members: 1. Are well informed and understand that protecting and enhancing the health of the Manukau Harbour by improving the quality of wastewater discharged in an affordable manner remains a top priority for Watercare. 2. Understand that Auckland Council's Healthy Waters team and Watercare are connected and work together to ensure we keep our harbours, estuaries and freshwater ecosystems healthy. |

Item 3 – Community feedback on draft Waitākere Ranges Climate Action Plan |
1.15pm-2.15pm Presenter/s: Claire Liousse, Empowered Community Specialist; Lisa Diggins, Specialist Advisor; Sunita Kashyap, Manager, Community Innovation; Lisa Howard-Smith, Community Broker.
Purpose: Share community feedback on the draft Waitākere Ranges Climate Action Plan with the local board members, including analysis of feedback and proposed adjustments to the plan in response to the community feedback. Proposed Outcome/s: Input from local board members about the community feedback on the draft Waitākere Ranges and adjustments needed to finalise the plan for adoption. |
Item 4 – Auckland Transport Monthly Update: Kōkiri Agreement Update |
2.15pm-2.45pm Presenter/s: Owena Schuster, Elected Member Relationship Partner. Purpose: Provide the local board with an update on the Auckland Transport Kōkiri Agreement. Proposed Outcome/s: The local board is updated. |
