3          Local Board Workshop

 

Session 1

Drury East Development – Waihoehoe Stream Corridor

Presenter/s:                  Lea van Heerden, Senior Parks Planner

Purpose:                       Identify the Local Board's perspective on this proposal and gauge                                       their feedback on the vision for this key environmental and                                       recreational area

Governance role:          Setting direction/priorities/budgets

Summary of Discussions:

The Board provided feedback regarding proposed additional assets within the Waihoehoe stream corridor.

Beachlands Community Hub discussion

This item was deferred.

Session 3

Development Contributions

Presenter:                      Ian Kloppers, Head of Infrastructure Funding Development                                       Strategy (online)

                                      Faith Smith, Lead Financial Advisor (observer)

Purpose:                       To assist local boards and help them provide feedback on the                                       draft Contributions Policy 2025 public consultation and feedback                                       held in September to December 2024

Governance role:          Input to regional decision-making

Summary of Discussions:      

The Board were provided an overview of the development contributions fund and mechanisms, prior to a report coming to the March business meeting, where the board will provide feedback.

Session 4

Rural Libraries options

Purpose:                       Receive feedback and direction on future funding options to support                                       six community-led libraries in Franklin

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of Discussions:

The Board requested further information  in particular on the regional funding / local board funding proposals put forward prior to the 2025-2026 work programme development

 

Session 5

Auckland Transport – Climate Change

Purpose:                       Update the board on Auckland Transport’s climate change approach

Governance role:          Keeping informed/setting direction

Summary of discussions:

The board were updated on new tools to map roads in the local board area that may be affected by climate change implications.

NZTA Waka Kotahi update

Summary of discussions        

The Board were updated on NZTA Waka Kotahi projects in the board area, including the Papakura to Drury State Highway project, SH22 Drury upgrade, Paerātā roundabout and Bombay SH22 traffic lights.
