Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

Proposed Outcome/s:  To inform the board on upcoming events/meetings and seek board’s feedback.

For members to provide strategic updates related to meetings/ briefings they have attended, highlighting opportunities for board decision making or advocacy.

Members opened the workshop with an opening Karakia

Waiata - Papakura Nei

·         Proposed new community lease to Te Kohanga Reo National Trust Board at 6R Liddy Place, Papakura

o   Members sought more information regarding to lease:

o   Do the parents pay fees?

o   Is the group aware of the increased lease cost and do they have the ability to pay the increased lease cost?

o    

·         Seven new road names at 144 and 152A Park Estate Road and 60 Parkmore Drive, Hingaia report

o   Members had no issues with the names proposed.

·         Proposed Wastewater environmental performance standards by Water services Authority  - Taumata Arowai

·         8-10 Averill Street - report now coming to May 2025 Business meeting

·         Cemeteries Bylaw – report now coming to April 2025 business meeting – board feedback:

o   Agree there should be some control for adornments to allow for easy maintenance - need to respect other graves

o   Adornments likely to be affected by wind should be well secured

o   Should not be able to drive up and to drink at the grave sites

o   Requirements should be clearly outlined to families so they’re aware

o   Should not transgress on another grave site

·         Engagement opportunity

o    Papakura Local Board have been invited to attend the Papakura Marae – 14 May 2025 – an information opportunity about what the local board does.

o    Annual Budget 2025/2026 online form did not have a question regarding what do you think of local board priorities.  Has been rectified.
