Workshops enable staff to explore options with elected members before ideas are fully developed, and to receive feedback and guidance on policy development or project design. No resolutions or decisions are made by elected members at workshops and so the requirements of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 relating to local authority meetings do not apply.

Allocation of decision-making responsibilities between Governing Body and local boards – for activities coming in-house Alastair Cameron, John Nash
• The governing body agreed an integrated CCO reform package in December, including that urban regeneration, commercial property management and economic development activities will come in-house. • Decisions that are currently made (or overseen) by the Eke Panuku and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited Boards will need to be allocated within council’s governance structure. • The workshop will also provide an overview of the timeline for adoption of the allocation table (including local board input) and an outline of further work to be done. |
