Local Board Workshop

 

CONFIDENTIAL Item 1 – Fosters Bay seawall renewal project

This workshop was held with the public excluded (confidential), as the workshop materials contained information about ongoing negotiations which was discussed at the meeting. Disclosing information about the negotiations at this stage will be disadvantageous to the council’s interests.

Item 2 – Auckland Transport Monthly Update - Level Crossing Update

Presenter/s:                   Owena Schuster, Auckland Transport Relationship Advisor; Daryl McIntosh, Head of Major Projects; Andrew Bell, Group Manager Rail Infrastructure.

 

Summary of Discussions

Staff presented proposed level crossings and updated the board on plans for level crossings with the new city rail link coming in 2026 and discussed how the western line will be prioritised within the level crossing programme. Satff also provided an update regarding the O’Niells Road level crossing.

Item 3 – Glen Eden Town Centre Evaluation.

Summary of Discussions

Staff provided a summary of the findings from the Glen Eden Town Center Pedestrian Improvement Post Construction Evaluation Report from December 2024 and answered questions from staff.

Item 4 – EcoMatters Work Programme Update.

Summary of Discussions

Ecomatters staff presented an update to the local board about their projects and priorities. 

Item 5 – Climate Action Activator Work Programme update

Summary of Discussions

Staff provided an overview of various initiatives being undertaken in the Climate Action Activator Work Programme including transport activity, Te Henga/Bethells transport proposal, city railink opportunities, kai growing and food waste activity, Mātauranga Māra and kai food waste opportunities. Finally staff presented planned activity to end of 2024 / 2025 and grant opportunities.

Item 6 – Te Ara Hura 2027 Parks & Community Facilities maintenance contracts

Summary of Discussions

Parks and Community Facilities provided a summary of its performance, and also presented the Te Ara Hura (The Way Forward) 2027 Parks and Memorandum Community Facilities maintenance contracts optimisation programme.
