Session 2 – 10.30-11.15am

Draft Southern Rural Strategy

Presenter/s:                  Eva Zombori, Snr Advisor Growth and Spatial

Purpose:                       Inform the board on public feedback from consultation and how this will be address in the final document

Governance role:          Input to regional decision-making

Summary of Discussions

Board noted that it was important to include Pukekohe and Drury development plans to ensure a full picture for future users. The low numbers of responses was noted, which would affect the accuracy of eg travel movement indicators. Board would support a ‘diversified and strong economy’ wording (ie not just rural). 

Session 3 – 11.15-12 noon

Purpose:                       Update on the Unlock Pukekohe programme

Summary of Discussions:

The board queried the hangi pit proposals, and referenced their previous feedback. Input on Roulston Park details such as the heritage board, Roulston family information and WWI were highlighted. The board requested more variety for future murals.

Session 4 – 1.00-1.30pm

Franklin Paths update

Purpose:                       Update the board on the Franklin Paths implementation programme

Summary of Discussions

Topics covered were marketing and communications, partnerships and sponsorships, material sourcing and project updates. A report is on the 22^nd April Franklin Local Board business meeting to resolve prioritised projects.

Session 5  - 1.30-2.15pm

Local Economic Broker update

Purpose:                       Update the board on the work programme activities

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of Discussions:

A roundup of project topics and movements was provided to the board.

The workshop closed at 2.37pm
