Annual Plan 2025-2026: Franklin Local Board consultation feedback and input

 

Lucy Stallworthy, Senior Māori Outcomes and Engagement Advisor, was in attendance to speak to this item.

The board reviewed feedback on regional topics. This document is included as Attachment A and will be available on the Auckland Council website as a Minutes Attachment.

 

Resolution number FR/2025/72

MOVED by Chairperson A Fulljames, seconded by Member A Kay:  

That the Franklin Local Board:

a)      whiwhi / receive consultation feedback on the proposed Franklin Local Board priorities and activities for 2025/2026, noting that responders supported continued investment in priorities proposed, specifically:

·            55 percent of responders consider Beachlands and Clevedon Community Hub services to be very or fairly important

·            51 percent of responders considered extending outreach to isolated communities to be very or fairly important

·            67 percent of responders considered accelerated delivery on the sport and recreation facilities plan, including one-off funding for Te Puru, Beachlands and Karaka Sports Park facilities to be very of fairly important

·            85 percent of responders considered investment into initiatives that reduce pests and enhance local waterway quality to be very or fairly important

·            64 percent of responders considered accelerated planting of trees in public places i.e. delivery of a Franklin urban Ngahere Plan to be very or fairly important

·            56 percent of responders considered continuation of the Franklin Paths Programme to be very or fairly important

b)             tuhi tīpoka / note that the board considers majority support for all proposals tested as mandate to invest in the delivery of priorities, with further detail to be considered by the board through the 2025-2026 work programme development process and in drafting the Franklin Local Board Plan 2026

c)             tono / request that the Governing Body and the organisation empower local boards to have much more influence and decision-making on the form and manner in which local board consultation information is created for special consultative procedures such as the Annual Plan and Long-term Plan

c)         whiwhi / receive consultation feedback on regional topics in the Annual Plan 2025/2026 from people and organisations based in the Franklin Local Board area.

d)      tuku / provide input on regional topics in the proposed Annual Plan 2025/2026 and key advocacy initiatives to the Governing Body, as summarised in Attachment A.
