The chair advised the meeting that he had a grazing license for regional farmland, however this was deemed not to be a conflict.

Public Input:  Alpine Sports Club - Research Opportunities with the Heart of the Ngahere Proposal

 

John Mackay addressed the committee on behalf of Alpine Sports Club and provided a PowerPoint presentation in support of the item. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

4.2

Public Input: Friends of Regional Parks Auckland - Natural Environment Targeted Rates (NETR) funding impacts for regional parks and track upgrades in the future

 

Bronwen Turner and Tony Walton addressed the committee on behalf of Friends of Regional Parks Auckland and provided a PowerPoint presentation and supporting material in support of the item. Copies have been placed on the official minutes and are available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

Note:    changes were made to the original recommendation, adding new clauses b) and c), as a Chair’s recommendation.

That the Parks Committee:

a)      whiwhi / receive the public input address from Friends of Regional Parks Auckland, and whakamihi / thank Bronwen Turner (Chair) and Tony Walton (Secretary) for attending the meeting.

b)      tono / request, through the Chief Executive, that staff report back on the issues raised by the Friends of Regional Parks and the Alpine sports club and development of the Waitākere Ranges Recreation Plan, including funding options required to progress track reopening.

c)      whakamihi / thank Friends of Regional Parks for the role that it contributes to Regional Parks in Auckland.
