Item 1 - Te Kawerau ā Maki - Mana Kura initiative |

Governance role: Keeping informed.
Summary of Discussions: Te Kawerau ā Maki introduced the board to the Mana Kura initiative, created to foster authentic relationships with schools by sharing the iwi’s history, pūrākau (stories), and mātauranga (knowledge). The programme is designed to connect schools and their communities with the rich history of the whenua, and to establish meaningful, enduring relationships with Te Kawerau ā Maki as Mana Whenua.

Item 2 – Kāinga Ora update |

11.15am-11.45am Presenter/s: Jen Havilitama, Stakeholder Relationship Manager Jody Jackson, Manager Community Engagement and Partnerships Aroha Sinclair, Community Development Manager
Governance role: Keeping informed.
Summary of Discussions: Kāinga Ora staff provided an update on their presence in the Whau regarding developments, divestments and community development.

Summary of Discussions: The local board provided additional feedback on the draft 2025/2026 work programme.
This workshop was held with the public excluded to allow free and frank discussion.

Item 4 - Events & new signature event |

2.15pm – 2.45pm Governance role: Setting direction / priorities / budget.
Summary of Discussions: Staff provided the board with recommended options for a new signature event for Whau, as well as outlining the range of event types available or currently existing within the Events Unit.
