Te Mihi | Acknowledgement
In recognition of the recent passing of Janet Clews, CNZM, QSO, NZ Suffrage Medal, JP, the Seniors Advisory Panel acknowledged her significant contributions as a past chair and member of the Panel for two terms, from 2013 to 2019. A highlight of Janet’s time on the panel was her successful advocacy in having Auckland declared an Age-friendly city in late 2021—an achievement she led tirelessly, despite considerable opposition and disinterest from some quarters. The Seniors Advisory Panel celebrated Janet’s contribution and remembered her leadership as it sought to give effect to the purpose of an Age-friendly Auckland.
