Purpose of the report
1. To present the Whau Local Board workshop agenda for 7 May 2025.

Executive summary
2. Most workshops are open to the public to attend as observers in person.
3. Some sessions may not be open to the public. The staff / chairperson and deputy chairperson decide which sessions are open to the public, depending on the sensitivity of the information being discussed. If a session is not open, a reason will be provided below.
4. Local Board workshops provide an opportunity for local boards to carry out their governance role in the following areas:
a) Accountability to the public
b) Engagement
c) Input to regional decision-making
d) Keeping informed
e) Local initiative / preparing for specific decisions
f) Oversight and monitoring
g) Setting direction / priorities / budget.
5. Workshops do not have decision-making authority.
6. Workshops are used to canvass issues, prepare local board members for upcoming decisions and to enable discussion between elected members and staff.
7. Members are respectfully reminded of their Code of Conduct obligations with respect to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.

Item 1 – Parks and Community Facilities maintenance contracts - Full facility contract update and Te Ara Hura 2027 |

10.00am-11.00am Presenter/s: Sarah Jones, Programme Manager Jennifer Rose, Head of Asset and Business Performance, Parks and Community Facilities Shane Hogg, Manager Area Operations Julie Pickering, Head of Area Operations
Purpose: To provide an update on current contract performance and provide a briefing on Te Ara Hura 2027 Parks and Community Facilities maintenance contracts. Outcome: To receive feedback from the board about: • What improvements to the current contract levels of service the board might want • What tasks might they allocate extra operational expenditure for additional service • What level of local provision might be ideal for their area.

Item 2 – Olympic Park Master Plan |

Purpose: To discuss the draft principles of the masterplan and to discuss the proposed engagement methods.

Item 3 – Rosebank Speedway, post-hearing workshop |

11.45am-12.30pm Purpose: To discuss with the local board the hearing held on February 27 and to discuss the commissioner's recommendations before bringing a final report.

This workshop is being held with the public excluded to allow free and frank discussion. |

Item 4 - Te Kete Rukuruku Tranche Three Site Selection |

Purpose / Outcome: To discuss parks the local board would like to go forward for Māori naming in tranche three of Te Kete Rukuruku.

Item 5 - Community Delivery Work Programme Update Quarter 3 2024/2025 |

Purpose: To ensure the local board is informed on the outcomes of the Community Wellbeing: Community Delivery work programme for quarter four of the 2024-2025.
