Te Mihi | Acknowledgements
Scott Milne, Chairperson of the Ōrākei
Local Board passed on the Local Board’s wish to formally acknowledge the
participation of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei rangatira at the
memorial tree planting for Kyle Whorrall, who was murdered in St. Johns. The
simple ceremony was very much appreciated by Kyle’s attending family, the
community, and the Board. Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei were
pivotal in curating a difficult situation and giving it meaning, and solemnity
but also a sense of hope .

Members are
reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a
conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other
external interest they might have.
There were no
