Session 2 – 10.30-11.15am

Te Ara Hura Franklin – Full Facility contract update

Te Ara Hura 2027 – Parks and Community Facilities maintenance contracts

              Veena Anjanappa, Manager Contract Performance

Purpose:                       Receive board feedback about improvements to levels of service, consider local board Opex contributions, consider what level of local provision is required.

Governance role:          Setting direction/priorities/budgets

Summary of Discussions:

Staff reported on the Full Facility contract performance for the board’s information. Contracts continue until June 2027.

Project 27 for Maintenance Contracts: The board were briefed on the contracts project progress for 2027. Feedback was requested on areas of high interest to the community, what the current maintenance problem areas are, and if there were focus areas for local priority.

 

Session 3 – 11.15-12 noon

Purpose:                       Discussion points around design, specifically in relation to paving and surface finishes, and how the project can manage the full use of Roulston Street for activities such as market days.

Governance role:        Setting direction/priorities/budgets

Summary of Discussions:

The board received information on options to resolve slippery pavers in Pukekohe, and a possible solution for temporary management of vehicle access.

Session 4 – 1.00-2.15pm

Parks and Community Facilities Work Programme updates

Purpose:                       Monthly work programme and project update to the board

Governance role:          Oversight and monitoring

Summary of Discussions:

The monthly work programme and projects update was presented, including bird control measures, a pedestrian bridge at Te Puru, Operation Beaches, ANZAC day, graffiti control, Arborist work and community lease work.  An update on the Constellation Park pump track was provided. The Maraetai North toilet block refurbishment plans were discussed to gain board direction. Clive Howe Recreation Reserve carpark renewal plans, Orere War Memorial Hall solar panels, Tamakae Drive Reserve storm remediation work and the Pukekohe war Memorial Town Hall projects were reported on.

Purpose:                       Update the board on the Franklin Paths programme implementation

Governance role:        Oversight and monitoring

Summary of Discussions:

Staff provided a comprehensive review of the many path projects being developed. Where costs are coming in well above estimates, staff are asked to investigate other funding options or staging.

Project locations are Clarks Beach/Waiau Pa, Liberty Crescent Beachlands, Clevedon Scenic Reserve, Waiuku Section B central walkway, Section F portage connection, Section D southern loop business park to town connection, Ararimu village path and Hūnua road footpath.

Auckland Transport projects are Shelley Bay Road footpath, Beachlands; Patumahoe/Woodhouse crossing; Pukekohe Station Road/Carlton Road crossings; Reynolds Road crossing; West Street crossing; and the Waiuku Cemetery Road footpath.

Due to time constraints the NZ Cycle trail connector ride Pine Harbour-Clevedon-Hūnua Traverse update will be covered via a memo.
