Governance role: Oversight and monitoring Summary of discussions The board received an update on the Community Wellbeing work programme line items. 270 Support Māori-led aspirations Manurewa The board asked staff to check in with Parks and Community Facilities staff regarding the mural at War Memorial Park as work is going to be undertaken on the fields. 3500 Manurewa age friendly initiatives - Manurewa Link Bus The board noted that the Manurewa link bus has had a school sign on it. Implementation of the Manurewa Sport and Active Recreation Facilities Plan 2025/26 Presenter/s: Barry George (Sport and Recreation Lead, Community Wellbeing)
Governance role: Setting direction / priorities / budget Summary of discussions The board provided direction on the allocation of funding for the Implementation of the Manurewa Sport and Active Recreation Facilities Plan 2025/2026. #51 Manurewa Athletic The board provided direction for staff to allocate the remaining $41,750 (for a new total of $71,750) so the feasibility study could be expanded to include replacing the existing facility. Governance role: Oversight and monitoring Summary of discussions The board received an update on the 2024/2025 activation programme and provided direction on the 2025/2026 programme. The board was pleased to see that activations are happening in the right areas and asked staff to see if they could reach out to more people. The board provided direction for staff to continue having The Pride Project deliver activations on the basis they have the capacity to deliver the activations themselves and not though another group. Manurewa Active Modes Action Plan Presenter/s: Peter Naber (Elected Member Relationship Partner, Auckland Transport) Ella Davis (Principal Transport Planner, Auckland Transport) Courtney Groundwater (Active Modes Infrastructure and Planning Manager, Auckland Transport) Governance role: Oversight and monitoring Summary of discussions The board provided feedback on the Manurewa Active Modes Action Plan. Auckland Transport Monthly Update Presenter/s: Peter Naber (Elected Member Relationship Partner, Auckland Transport) Raymond Tong (Project Manager, Auckland Transport) Governance role: Oversight and monitoring Summary of discussions The board received an update on the Auckland Transport programme of work. Dennis Avenue traffic calming The board provided direction for staff to proceed with the Dennis Avenue traffic calming project as proposed, noting that if there are issues with the crossing facility near Earls Court it will be removed or relocated at Auckland Transport’s cost. Other topics discussed included: · No footpath at Kimptonfields Court, Wattle Downs · Blocked drains · Traffic light phasing at the intersection of Coxhead and Weymouth Roads.
