Session 1

Waiuku Library and Community Hall renewals

Moushmi Sharan, Work Programme Lead (online)

Purpose:                       To report on renewing the roof and incorporating resilience improvements and upgrades as part of the renewal

Governance Role:        Oversight and monitoring

Summary of Discussions:

The board reviewed proposals that covered both the immediate roof repair and renewal requirements of the building; plus plans to consider for increasing the building usability for current and future users, with consequent budget implications for all options.

Session 2

Community Wellbeing Quarterly Update

Purpose:                       Keep the board informed of the Community Wellbeing work programme activities.

Governance Role:        Oversight and monitoring

Summary of Discussions:

The board were updated on the work programme of the various sectors and sought further information for some items.

 

Session 3

Recovery Office – Community and Social Recovery update

Leanne Roche, Community-led Recovery Manager

Purpose:                       Update the board on the work including the future of the navigation service, and an update on local recovery progress

Summary of Discussions:

The board received a final update on the Recovery Office work programme, which will finish in December 2025.

Parks and Community Facilities work programme update

Summary of Discussions:

The board were informed of work programme and project progress, in particular an update on the Pukekohe Borough Building, which will require decision making.

Session 5

Tamakae Reserve Mana Whenua artwork

Presenters:                   Kim Martinengo, Snr Project Manager, Public Art

Eli Ewens, Manager Area Operations

Purpose:                       Update the board on Public Art with Ngaati te Ata in Tamakae Reserve, noting the Spatial Analysis report where their preferred locations for artwork is noted, and reinstatement of an historic Waahi Noa.

Governance Role:        Keeping informed

Summary of Discussions:

The board were advised of the public art project progress for Waiuku Tamakae Reserve.

 

The workshop closed at 3.00pm
