Purpose of the report
1. To present the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board workshop agenda for 3 September 2025.

Executive summary
2. Workshops will be recorded. The link to the recordings can be found at this link from the Auckland Council Youtube channel: Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board workshop - recordings
3. Some sessions may not be open to the public therefore will not be recorded. The staff and/or chairperson and deputy chairperson decide which sessions are open to the public, depending on the sensitivity of the information being discussed. If a session is not open, a reason will be provided below.
4. Local Board workshops provide an opportunity for local boards to carry out their governance role in the following areas:
a) Accountability to the public
b) Engagement
c) Input to regional decision-making
d) Keeping informed
e) Local initiative / preparing for specific decisions
f) Oversight and monitoring
g) Setting direction / priorities / budget.
5. Workshops do not have decision-making authority.
6. Workshops are used to canvass issues, prepare local board members for upcoming decisions and to enable discussion between elected members and staff.
7. Members are respectfully reminded of their Code of Conduct obligations with respect to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.

Leasing - To seek local board feedback and direction on new leases and a lease renewal. Presenter/s: Gordon Ford (Community Lease Specialist) - in person Purpose: Groups have applied for a new lease and a lease renewal. This workshop is to seek local board feedback and direction. Governance role: Setting direction / priorities / budget. Proposed Outcome/s: This will help the group to obtain a new lease and continue their operation. Recovery Office - Tāmaki Makaurau Recovery Office - Update on Community and Social Recovery CONFIDENTIAL: Due to financial sensitivities, this session is confidential therefore will be closed to the public and not recorded. Presenter/s: Linda Greenalgh (Head of Community and Social Recovery), Leanne Roche (Community-Led Recovery Manager), Caroline Tauevihi (Recovery Specialist) - all in person Purpose: To inform the local board on Community and Social Recovery including the future of the navigation service and an update on how local recovery planning is progressing.
