Purpose of the report
1. To present the Whau Local Board workshop agenda for 3 September 2025.

Executive summary
2. Most workshops are open to the public to attend as observers in person.
3. Some sessions may not be open to the public. The staff / chairperson and deputy chairperson decide which sessions are open to the public, depending on the sensitivity of the information being discussed. If a session is not open, a reason will be provided below.
4. Local Board workshops provide an opportunity for local boards to carry out their governance role in the following areas:
a) Accountability to the public
b) Engagement
c) Input to regional decision-making
d) Keeping informed
e) Local initiative / preparing for specific decisions
f) Oversight and monitoring
g) Setting direction / priorities / budget.
5. Workshops do not have decision-making authority.
6. Workshops are used to canvass issues, prepare local board members for upcoming decisions and to enable discussion between elected members and staff.
7. Members are respectfully reminded of their Code of Conduct obligations with respect to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.

Item 1 – Auckland Transport monthly update |

10.30am-11.00am Presenter/s: Peter Naber, Elected Member Relationship Partner
Purpose / Outcome: To provide the Board with a monthly update.

Item 2 – Community Facilities Network Plan - Improvement Programme |
|
11.00am-12.00pm Presenter/s: Fran Burton, Senior Policy Advisor Cheryl Steiner, Senior Policy Analyst Aubrey Bloomfield, Principal Policy Advisor Carol Wang, Policy Advisor
Purpose / Outcome: To receive local board feedback on improvements required to the Community Facilities Network Plan and discuss their involvement in this regional policy process.
Governance role: Setting direction / priorities / budget.

Purpose / Outcome: To share an update on Kāinga Ora presence and mahi with customers in the Whau.

Item 4 – Recovery Office - Community and Social Recovery update |

1.30pm – 2.15pm Presenter/s: Caroline Tauevihi, Recovery Specialist Leanne Roche, Community Led Recovery Manager Anya Thomas, Community-led Recovery Specialist Manu Joyce, Recovery Navigator Service Manager
Purpose / Outcome: For staff to inform the local board on Community and Social Recovery including the future of the navigation service and an update on how local recovery planning is progressing.
