Deputy Chairperson C Ollivier declared a conflict of interest in respect to the grant applications of Glenfern Sanctuary Trust (local) and Motu Kaikoura Trust (capital) at item 11 - Aotea / Great Barrier Local and Capital Grants round one 2025/2026 grant allocations report.
Member N Sanderson declared a conflict of interest in respect to the grant applications of Luke Coles under the umbrella of Aotea Education Trust (local), Aotea Education Trust (capital), and Kaitoke School (capital) at item 11 - Aotea / Great Barrier Local and Capital Grants round one 2025/2026 grant allocations report and at item 12 - Claris cemetery proposal report.

Resolution number GBI/2025/128 MOVED by Chairperson I Fordham, seconded by Deputy Chairperson C Ollivier: That the Aotea / Great Barrier Local Board: a) whakahē / decline the proposal to receive and develop the gifted land at 143 Hector Sanderson Road, Claris as a cemetery due to the high costs to develop the land and infrastructure. b) whakanuia / acknowledge the generosity of the proposed gifted land and thank the landowner. c) whakamihi / thank Shane Hogg, Cushla Buchanan, Geotech team and other staff from Parks & Community Facilities for all their hard mahi in investigating the proposed Claris cemetery project as requested by the Aotea community. |
